Oasis is back with a new single and new album. The first single from their upcoming Dig Out Your Soul album is called The Shock of the Lightning. Let's just hope the brothers can keep from feuding, and they can actually go out on tour and support the new album. Enjoy!
Lately, Def Leppard have made more news from their talk than their music, but their new single, C'mon, C'mon is a good one. It's their second single from their new album, Songs From the Sparkle Lounge. Enjoy!
Too Drunk is the first single from Buckcherry's upcoming fourth album Black Butterfly, which is set to be released on September 16, 2008. It's already at #13 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. Enjoy!
Man-Sized Wreath is the third single from R.E.M.'s latest album, Accelerate. I like their new album and all three singles so far, but their performance on the charts is almost non-existent. This song hasn't charted on any U.S. chart so far, and their last single, Hollow Man didn't as well. Only the first single, Supernatural Superserious charted, peaking at #85 (Hot 100), #36 (Mainstream Rock) and #21 (Modern Rock). I'm afraid they've gotten a little too old for mainstream radio's audience. It's a shame though, because Accelerate is one of R.E.M.'s best albums in quite some time. Enjoy!
Rapper/singer-songwriter Everlast has a new album called Love, War and the Ghost of Whitey Ford due out in September. On the album, he does a pretty good cover of Johnny Cash's classic hit Folsom Prison Blues. Enjoy!
Headstrong was the debut single for Trapt from their 2002 self-titled debut album. It went to #1 on both the Mainstream Rock and Modern Rock charts as well as #16 on the Hot 100 charts. The song also won two Billboard Music Awards in 2003 for "Best Modern Rock Track" and "Best Rock Track". Enjoy!
The Verve's new album, Forth will be released here in the U.S. on August 26th. The first single from the album is called Love is Noise. It debuted last week at #5 on the U.K. singles charts. In the U.S., they're known as a one-hit wonder because the only song they've had chart in the U.S. is Bittersweet Symphony, which peaked at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts way back in 1997. Enjoy!
Hell Yeah is Rev Theory's second overall single, but their first commercial single. It's on their latest album Light It Up. The song was the official theme song for WWE's One Night Stand 2008 pay-per-view event. It's currently at #22 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. Enjoy!
This one is for all the Jackyl fans out there. It's Jackyl lead man, Jesse James Dupree and his new band Jesse James Dupree and Dixie Inc, and their latest single, Money, Lovin' and Speed. This song isn't for everyone, but if you're a Jackyl fan from the early 90's, then you'll probably like it. Enjoy!
Dave Matthews Band performed live in Atlanta's Piedmont Park last year to a crowd of over 50,000 people. The concert was a benefit to raise money for a project to expand 53 acres of the city's park. The Allman Brothers Band also performed at the concert. Enjoy!
John Mellencamp released Life, Death, Love and Freedom earlier this year. The first single from the album is called My Sweet Love. The album is more folk rock than Mellencamp's traditional hard rock. It's received very good reviews among critics, but I don't know if he'll ever return to his glory days when songs like Jack And Diane were dominating the radio. Enjoy!
To usher in your weekend, here's a rock block from AC/DC. It includes Satellite Blues, which is the last single the band released from their last album, 2001's Stiff Upper Lip and then two AC/DC classics, Hells Bells and For Those About To Rock (We Salute You). Enjoy!
