Bang Camaro Rocked Conan O'Brien's World Last Night

Boston's own Bang Camaro were the special musical guests on Late Night with Conan O'Brien last night. If you're not familiar with them, they were founded by guitarists Bryn Bennett and Alex Necochea and the band is composed of members of various indie rock bands from around the area. Kings of Leon - Sex on Fire

Sex on Fire is the first single from Kings of Leon's fourth studio album, 2008's Only by the Night. It's their first number one hit in America. Alter Bridge - Watch Over You

Watch Over You was the second single released in the U.S. from Alter Bridge's 2007 Blackbird album. It made it to #19 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. Two videos were shot for the song. This version is one that was shot as a promotional video for the VH1's Celebrity Rehab 2 show. The song is a departure from most of Alter Bridge's music as it's much softer and one of the few power ballads they've ever recorded. Enjoy!

Green Day - Working Class Hero

Today is Green Day's drummer Tre Cool's 36th birthday - Happy Birthday Tre. The guys haven't released a new album in a while, but I thought I'd feature a cover they did back in 2007 of John Lennon's Working Class Hero. They recorded the song for Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur, which was released on June 12, 2007 and proceeds went to help support Amnesty International's campaign to focus attention on the conflict in Darfur, Sudan. This is a really good cover of a great song. Here's Lennon's original version. Enjoy!

Hinder - Without You

Hinder's newest single is called Without You. This one has top 40 written all over it. That's not a bad thing, but Hinder's a strange case. They have the look of a heavy metal band. They're going to be touring with Motley Crue next year, but when they record songs like this one, you'd swear they were merely a pop band. Nevertheless, Without You is a good song and will do well on both the pop and rock charts. It's already at #69 on the Billboard Pop 100 charts and #35 on the Mainstream Rock charts. It's their second single from their Take It To The Limit CD. Use Me, the first single from the album, has peaked at #3 so far on the Mainstream Rock charts. Enjoy!

For those of you who weren't alive in the 70's, then you probably never had the privilege of watching AC/DC perform with their original lead singer Bon Scott. This song, Let There Be Rock, is one of AC/DC's all-time greatest songs. This live version includes an incredible, extended guitar solo from Angus Young. This one is well worth the watch. Saving Abel - 18 Days

18 Days is Saving Abel's second single from their 2008 self-titled debut album. This song has a nice sound for radio and should do pretty well on the charts if it's promoted enough. Is it me, or does the lead singer's voice remind you of the lead singer from Sister Hazel? I may be way off, but at the beginning of the song, that's who he sounded like to me. Either way, I like this song. I liked Addicted, their first single as well. 18 Days just moved into the top ten this week on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. Enjoy!

Dokken - Alone Again

Today, I want to flashback to 1985 when Dokken released their second studio album Tooth and Nail. Alone Again was the second single released from the album, and it's Dokken's highest charting single on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Mainstream Rock charts. It peaked at #64 on the Hot 100 and #20 on the Mainstream Rock charts. It's amazing that more of their songs didn't chart higher on the Mainstream Rock charts because I consider them one of the better rock bands of all the 80's hair bands. They just never received the same type of promotion as Poison, Ratt, Cinderella and others. Enjoy!
